A further that Officer's part having been brought to

notice by the Colonial Surgeon it became absolutely necesary to effect some change, especially as the Principal Awal

Military Medical Officers together with the Colonial Surgeon have recently frecommended stringent sanatory precaution tagainst the introduction of Mauritius Hever into the bolony.
I have therefore accepted Dr Hendersons
presignation
ion and have provisionally appointed Dr William Stanley Adams, Sungeon to the Seaman's Hospital, in
his place.
In consideration of the arduous
duties which will devolve on him at
once I have, pending Your Gracis sanction,
authorized
him to draw a
rate of $1500 per
annum

that he combines with the duties of

Health Officer those of Medical Inspector of Emigrants contemplated under the Emigration Ordinance 1867. (Ngʻof that year) which authorizes a salary of $2000. as the fees for inspection of Emigrants are to be paid into the Treasury I believe
